Gwaram local government is set to sponsor the education of 100 students indigenous to the council area to study at the Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare, Bauchi state.

This pronouncement was made by the Executive Chairman of the area, Hon. Zahraddeen Abubakar, when he met with the management of the college earlier today.

Recall that the principal officers of the college were at the office of the Executive Chairman in September this year to seek partnership with the local government to help boost education in the area.

Following the arrangement, 100 students were selected across the local government area and were at the college yesterday for physical screening.

During the Chairman’s visit to the Provost of the college, Professor Asabe Sadiya Mohammed, he assured the management of prompt payment of the students’ school fees once their admission is secured to enable them commence their academic activity.

Hon. Zahraddeen Abubakar said the decision to sponsor the students was borne out of the commitment to boost education in the council area, adding that to revamp the education sector, there’s need to have trained teachers that would teach at primary and secondary schools as this is the foundation.

Responding, the Provost of the college assured the Chairman that admission slots would be procured to the students. The management also assured the provision of accomodation to the students and other necessary guidance as would be required.
