Group Donates Equipments To ATBUTH Bauchi, Commends Management and Staff For Professional Practice

The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi has received donations of some medical kits targeted to be use for patients of Cub Foot and management.

A statement signed by the Head of P.R Unit of the Hospital Usman Abdullahi Koli, stated that the occasion also witnessed the signing of an MOU between the hospital and a donor agency, Health & Development Support Program (HAND).

The items presented include POP in dozens, Ortho ban in dozens, Miracle feet brace orthotics in different sizes and a smart phone among other related medical equipments for the orthopedic department. Also the HAND organized a training for health personnel in the orthopedic department to rebuild their capacity as medical practitioners on the front line guiding policy and other professional responsibilties.

The State focal person of the HAND program, Mr. Priestly Adora who on behalf of his team handed over the donated items to the hospital, commended management and staff of the health institution for exibiting high sense of professional practice over the years, noting that many States across the country including FCT Abuja had benefited from similar gesture by the dono partner.He therefore urged beneficiaries of the program to make good use of the items received and adviced to handle them with care.

Responding, the Chief Medical Director Prof. Yusuf Jibrin admonished other sister Agencies to emulate the humanitarian gesture adding that, the hospital is ready to collaborate with any NGO and MDA’s that can enhance it productivity in providing effective service delivery to those suffering from various ailments and the host community at large. He however,reiterated his commitment to quality service delivery and charged the public to cooperate with the management of the hospital to archieve the desired goal.

Also speaking, the HOD of Orthopedics Department ATBUTH Bauchi. Dr. Ibrahim Shapat appreciated them for the support and appealed for more in that direction.While assuring that items donated will be judiciously use by patients especially the low income earners for what it was meant for, also took their inventory for record purposes.
