Ajiri, a community in Mafa local government area of Borno State, which was resettled last month, is to get new hospital, shopping complex and portable water facilities.

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum gave that directive on Thursday when he paid a one day working visit to Dikwa and Mafa local government areas of the state.

About 500 households have returned to Ajiri on the 15th of August 2020, with each given a low-cost 2 bedroom house and N50,000 emergency relief.

Zulum’s visit was to assess farmlands established for returning farming communities for restoration of livelihoods, build public confidence and community resilience.

“I am happy to see you people living comfortably after your relocation from IDPs Camps to your ancestral home.

“As Government we will do everything possible to support you. We are going to provide Ajiri community with a befitting school, hospital and market stalls among other social infrastructures.

“I am appealing to all of you to continue pray for the restoration of peace and cooperate with the security agencies in the fight against terrorism”. Zulum said.

Zulum despite the heavy down pour continued his journey to Dikwa local government area where he inspected hectares of farmlands for irrigation and fadama (Firgi) farming.
