Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi has today participated at the National Virtual Launch of USAID Nigeria, State Accountability, Transparency & Effectiveness (State2State) Activity at Emergency Operation Centre (EOC), Sokoto Road GRA, Bauchi.

Governor Bala participated alongside Governors of benefitting States of Gombe, Adamawa, Sokoto, Akwa Ibom and Ebonyi.

In his speech, the Governor appreciated the USAID for the initiative and promised to provide conducive environment for smooth implementation of the project in Bauchi State.

He said the State2State project is a welcomed development and will help in reinforcing and sustaining government reform programmes.

He said the project will assist the benefiting States to block their inadequacies in governance and sustain institutional reforms in various States.

Governor Bala said for transparency and accountability, his administration is ready to be holding quarterly meetings with development partners and Civil Groups for feedback on government policies and programmes.

He added that, his administration is committed to promoting good governance aimed at improving fiscal discipline in public procurement, debt management and implementation of fiscal responsibility law.

He said since the inception of his administration, relationship with development partners is being maintained for the benefit of the State.

Governor Bala called on the officials assigned to participate in implementation of the project to work assiduously for proper coordination.

Other speakers at the virtual launching include, the Honorable Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Hajiya Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, Chairman, Nigerian Governors Forum Kayode Fayemi, Dr Joe Abeh, Country’s Director of DAI, Mary Beth Leonard, US Ambassador to Nigeria, Chief Party of the project, Mr Tissan Sullivan among others.
