Governor Bala receives UMZA Agricultural firm, pledges partnership to boost Agricultural Production

Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has today recieved in audience, the management of Umza International Farming Limited at the Council Chamber, Government House Bauchi.

Governor Bala said their visit is an attestation of his administration’s desire to reduce over dependence on federation account through improving other sources.

He said his administration has since developed an agricultural policy and hoped that, the partnership will assist the State Government to implement the document effectively.

The Governor briefed the investors on the potentials of the State, assured people of Bauchi that all the potentials of the State will be exploited without consideration to locations.

He welcomed the proposed investment on rice and sugar cane production and promised to support them to succeed.

Governor Bala directed commissioners of Agriculture, Lands and that of Local Government Affairs to work with the firm to ensure community engagement in their investment.

Briefing the Governor on their mission to Bauchi State, the Chairman of UMZA, Honorable Mohammed Abubakar Maifata said the visit was to seek for the support of the Governor on the proposed one hundred million dollars investment for three years with thirty billion naira a year turnover into the State.

He said the economic values of the investment to communities is providing job opportunities to over three thousand out growers on Umza farms among others.

He added that the firm will commence operations in the State soon in an identified land in Zaki Local Government which will be beneficial to the Government and citizens of Bauchi State.
