Kebbi State Gov. comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has commended the members of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) for being alive to their responsibilities in various endeavours in the country.
Idris made the commendation when he received the members led by Dr James Neminebor, on courtesy visit in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.
He said, ” Many of my State executive members are ANAN members and my government is an ANAN government as I have never found any one of them wanting.
“I thank ANAN and members of ANAN in my cabinet for being alive to their responsibilities.”
Idris reiterated his commitment of fulfilling all the campaign promises he made to the people during the 2023 campaign in the state.
“We know the promises and we have started already on aspects of agriculture, education, health and infrastructure,” he said.
The governor also promised to look at the request made by ANAN on the provision of a befitting accommodation and an operational vehicle for effective and efficient service delivery of the association.
Earlier, the National President of the association, Mr. James Ekerore Neminebor, informed the governor that they were in the state for the training of their members on the ‘Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) Programme’.
He said, ” The training is geard towards putting our members on the current trends in accounting and accounting terms.
“The staff engaged should be current with the accounting terms and current trends as well as data and statistics.
“I have observed that all the financial generals in this state are ANAN members and we are proud of them.
” We promise you that we are going at their backs to ensure they don’t betray the trust you have given to them,” he promised.
Neminebor appealed to the governor to provide the association with accommodation and an operational vehicle in the state to do their work effectively and efficiently.
He eulogized Gov. Nasir Idris for his good leadership qualities, describing the Kauran Gwandu as a Manager of finance and resources.
The national president of ANAN also announced that the association would confer its fellowship award on the Governor.
