Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Bagudu has again restated the commitment of the state government to restore security across the state.
This, he said, was part of sustained efforts to ensure that people of the state return to their pre-security challenges bustling socioeconomic activities and wellbeing.
The Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum spoke on Friday when he addressed the people of Dankolo village in Sakaba Local Government of the state.
According to Bagudu, the issue of security was a collective responsibility even as he urged the people of the state to shun disseminating fake news.
He said,” the people should also only offer credible intelligence to the various security agencies with a view to nipping crimes and criminality.
“I am happy with the improvement of the security situation here and the other parts of the state. This will be sustained.
“We will spare no efforts to ensure that the people of he state sleep with their two eyes closed and conduct their legally allowed activities without any let or hindrance.”
While commending the various religious and traditional leaders as well as the security agencies for their uncommon invaluable efforts in promoting peace and security.
Bagudu also appealed to the various vigilantes, youths and voluntary groups to sustain their efforts on bolstering security in the state.
He also lauded the Chairman of Sakaba Local Government and his lieutenants for being diligent and upright.
Bagudu pledged to assist the people with funds and inputs to commence dry season farming to alleviate their suffering.
The governor also called on the indigenous contractor handing the road project to mobilise back to the site to ensure the completion of the work before the next raining season.
He said the contractor has been fully paid all his money and with improved security, he should come back to continue with the road construction which very vital to the people of the area.
Earlier, the Chairman of Sakaba Local Government Area , Alhaji Dauda Muhammad Zaure thanked the governor for fulfilling his promise to come to Dankolo village to see the level of work for the construction of the road in the area.
He also appreciated the efforts of the governor in providing security and succour to IDPs .
The Sakaba council Chairman also announced to the people that the Governor has donated 30 million naira to them in addition to two trailer load of rice for distribution to IDPs to cushion their hardship.
The Village head of Dankolo, Malam Ibrahim Musa, the Ubankasar Sakaba, Garba Musa,
Chief of Wasagu Chiefdom ,Muktar Muhammad all expressed profound gratitude to Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for his love, compassion and humanitarian assistance to the people particularly the IDPs.
They also acknowledged the improved security and presence of security personnel in the area .
The traditional leaders appealed to the governor for his intervention so that the contractor handling the construction work come back to site.
