Foundation donates medical equipment to ABUTH Shika

Bashir Jamoh Foundation, a non governmental organization has donated medical equipment worth millions of naira to Ahmadu Bello University teaching hospital Shika Zaria.

The foundation which has been in existence for three years had offered various contributions to health, education, Agriculture and youth empowerment sectors of human development.

Presenting the items on behalf of the founder, Dr.Bashir Yusuf Jamoh, Director General, NIMASA, Mallam Rabiu Ishaq said the gesture was a give back initiative to the community as a way of support towards providing basic essential needs to the people to better their livelihood.

Items presented include Disposable Bedsheets, Methylated spirit, Latex hand gloves, Cotton wool, Malaria test-kits,
Urine specimen collection bottles,
Eye-glasses, frames and cases.

Dr. Jamoh said the rationale behind the donation to ABUTH “was borne out of our concern as friends to this noble institution and It is coming at the wake of increasing incidence of communicable disease in our society which are largely preventable.

“The triplet of poor sanitation, illiteracy and over-crowding are fuels to these disease outbreaks in our local setting as were just recovering from the effects of COVID-19 and Monkey-Pox is just knocking on our doors.

“This is in addition to Cholera outbreak that is being witnessed in many parts of the North today.

Jamoh said the foundation therefore feel obliged to assist the government towards providing medical equipment to improve the health condition of the citizens.

“We hope the management, staff and patients of Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital will find these items useful in prevention and management of common diseases in our society.” Jamoh added.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee of the Hospital, Prof Ahmed Bello while applauding the effort of the foundation pledged to use the equipment judiciously.

Prof. Bello said the equipment will go a long way in complimenting hospital’s commitment to providing effective and efficient health care service delivery to the people.
