FCE Zaria matriculates new students of UDUS affiliation for 2022/2021-2021/2022 combine academic session

The Management of Federal College of Education, Zaria has today, 28th March, 2022 matriculated newly admitted students of Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto affiliation for the combined 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic session.

The Provost of the college, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe while addressing the matriculating students, congratulated them for being lucky of getting admitted into the UDUS affiliation programs, out of thousands of applicants, for the 2 merged academic sessions, in a time the college is experiencing rigorous transformation to meet global standards of teaching and learning. The Provost further reiterated the essence of good moral behaviors.

In his words, ” Note that the College places so much value on discipline…”, “Students must be reminded of the need to watch their moral and social behaviors right from inception.”

Also, ” It is for this reason that the degree is awarded not only for passing examination, but additionally for good behavior and exemplary conduct.”

The Provost admonishes the students to abstain from all antisocial behaviors, such as exams malpractice, indecent dressing, drug abuse and unlawful association with unlawful associations.

Addressing on the issue of security, the Provost advised all students to shun violence and any kind of criminality, and should appreciate buses that were provided to be taking them, to and fro, for their safety.

On the issue of late release of results, the Provost pleaded with the representatives of University on fast tracking and facilitating timely release of students’ results and certificates. This act will encourage students and give them chance of going for NYSC together with their counterparts in the mother institution, according to Provost. He finally, appreciated the UDUS management for the additional 3 courses; Economics, in the College’s affiliation.

In his speech, the Vice Chancellor of UDUS, Prof. Lawal Suleiman Bilbis , represented by the Dean, Faculty of Education and Extension Services, Prof. Abdullahi Tukur Kadage congratulated the new students admitted into 5 degrees programs offered by FCE Zaria in affiliation with the university.

The VC firmly stated, “The university is not prepared and will not in any way compromise standards. You should be mindful of the fact that University is not a place for unserious students.” and “it is pertinent for you to note that degrees are conferred only on graduates who are found “worth” in both character and learning.”

The VC also urged students to work hard for their successes and prayed that Allah (SWT) guide and bless their efforts throughout their stay in the university.
