FAWOYDI trains women leaders and male advocates on advocacy skills to promote women in leadership

Active participation of women in politics and decision making process will no doubt give voice to women folks in the scheme of things and promote gender inclusion in leadership.

The Executive Director, Fahimta women and youth development initiative, Hajiya Maryam Garba made this known at a two day training for women leaders and male advocate on advocacy skills to promote women support in leadership, held at Jolly Guest in Bauchi.

Organised by fahimta in collaboration with Actionaid Nigeria (WVL project), the training is meant to enhance participants ability to mobilize and organize for collective action and strengthen the capacity of women and men on rudiments of advocacy in decision making process.

Representd by Finance Manager of the organization Mrs. Dinah Daniel Istifanus, the ED emphasized that, women involvement in decision making process would close gender imbalance that is existing at all levels of government and will ensure equality, equity and Justice in distribution of available resources and opportunities.

“Women were relegated to the background to the extent that they were not given a voice in anything in the community, and called for a change of attitude to enable them contribute in nation building, the scribe said.”

She charged them to be more committed throughout the training in order to spread the knowledge acquired in all the nook and crannies of their respective communities.

Our reporter revealed that, participants were drawn from Giade, Alkaleri and bauchi local government areas respectively.
