FAWOYDI/AAN trains women on interpersonal skills, self development in Bauchi

A Bauchi based NGO, Fahimta Women and Youth Development Initiative (FAWOYDI) with support from Action Aid Nigeria (AAN) has commenced training for 20 women leaders on how to take part in decision making process in their respective communities.

The objectives of the training was to enhance knowledge of women folk on hygiene practices, interpersonal relationship and self development for women leadership.

In her opening remarks, executive director of fahimta, hajiya Maryam Garba explain that, the training was to build the confidence of women for participation in decision making processes as well as enhance their capacities for advocacy and negotiation skills.

She expressed concern on how women were relegated to the background on the scheme of things especially in rural areas, hence the need for the change of attitude.

“The situation is worrisome because government at all levels were not given the necessary support and encouragement to participate in decision making process and politics, the ED said.’

Hajiya Maryam Garba advise the participants to be attentive throughout the training and spread the message they learnt during the training to all the nook and cranny of their respective localities.

Our reporter reveal that the participants were drawn from three LGAs of Alkaleri, bauchi and giade.
