Eid-El-Fitr: Tambuwal pays April salary, pensions to all civil servants and pensioners

The Sokoto State Government has paid the sum of N2.8bn as April, 2022 salary and pension to all State Government Workers and Pensioners numbering over 40,000 which include Public/Civil Servants, Political Office Holders, Elected Officials and Pensioners.

The payment was on instruction of the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, CFR (Mutawallen Sokoto) to Ministry of Finance despite the fact that the Federation Account and Allocation Committee (FAAC) for the month of March is yet to be convened to allocate and disburse funds for the various tiers of Government.

2. The gesture is aimed at ensuring all workers in the State and their families celebrate the forthcoming Eid-El-Fitr with ease and to cushion the hard economic reality confronting the people of the State and Nation at large. The Governor wishes all workers, their families and people of the State an accepted Ramadan and Happy Eid-El-Fitr celebrations.
