Communities of Boi and Tapshin in Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa Local Government Areas of Bauchi State have shared their painful experiences before the construction of the 11.2 kilometre road linking them, executed by the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed.

One of the residents, Mr. Istifanus Barde, recalled how they once spent two days stranded with a corpse due to heavy flooding at Tapshin River. He said such ordeals had been the reality for many years, especially during the rainy season, when access between the two communities became nearly impossible.

According to him, the completion of the new road and bridge has drastically transformed their movement, reducing what used to be hours of struggle to just a few minutes’ drive. He described the project as life-saving and a relief to families who previously suffered in silence.

Another community member, Madam Astra John, also expressed deep appreciation to Governor Bala Mohammed. She noted that the new road has brought life back to the people of Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa, easing trade, education, and healthcare access in the area.

Speaking during the ongoing Media Tour of projects across the 20 Local Government Areas of Bauchi State, the Supervisor Engineer of the project, Mr. Ado Shehu, confirmed to journalists that the road has been fully completed and is already in use by residents. He assured that the standard of work will ensure durability for years to come.

The Boi–Tapshin Road is part of Governor Bala Mohammed’s wider effort to open up rural communities, improve transportation, and boost economic activities across Bauchi State. Residents say the road has not only connected them physically but has also restored their dignity and hope.
