The Bauchi State Office of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has been actively training and raising awareness among various groups in the state.
The goal is to equip them with knowledge, eradicate poverty, and tackle gender violence in societies.
Mrs. Lydia G Shehu, Director General of the SDGs in the State, made this announcement during a one-day workshop held in Bauchi metropolitan.
Mrs. Shehu emphasized the importance of avoiding gender disparities in all aspects of life and noted that educated women can have a significant impact on their communities, as they can teach and empower many others.
She urged the people to recognize the value of knowledge and education, particularly for females, and to work towards removing gender-based violence, especially in rural areas.
According to her The SDGs aim to achieve sustainable development by 2030, adding that The workshop was an opportunity for participants to learn and share ideas on how to promote sustainable development and address the challenges facing their communities.
One of the participants, Abduljabar Muhammad, expressed his gratitude to the SDGs for organizing the training program ss well as the opportunity to learn and take responsibility for promoting sustainable development in his community.
