Bauchi State Government Signs MoU with NBTI to Enhance Technology and Youth Inclusive Development

The National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) is committed to facilitating access to research, patents, and innovation from Nigeria’s knowledge institutions that can be commercialized by local entrepreneurs in Bauchi State.

 

This was stated by the Director-General and CEO of NBTI, Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, represented by the Zonal Director of the Board, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed, during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NBTI and the Bauchi State Government.

 

He explained that The MoU signing ceremony marked a significant milestone in the development of science and technology in Bauchi State.

 

Adding that Under the partnership, the Bauchi State Technology Incubation Center (TIC) will be upgraded to serve as a center for excellence in the Northeast.

 

Dr. Kolawole Raji opined that This upgrade will provide a platform for young entrepreneurs to develop their ideas and turn them into successful businesses.

 

In a vote of thanks The Center Director of the Technology Incubation Center Bauchi, Abdullahi Abdulkadir Yelwa, noted that technology incubation programs have been used by both developing and developed economies to fast-track local and regional economic development.

 

The Commissioner for Power, Science, and Technology, Modibbo Usman, who signed the MoU on behalf of the state government, emphasized that this partnership will provide opportunities for young people in Bauchi State to develop their skills and ideas, and contribute to the state’s economic growth.

 

He hinted that the government is committed to creating an enabling environment for startups and fledgling businesses to thrive.

 

Technology incubation programs are designed to support budding entrepreneurs in the development of new technology firms.
