Bauchi State Government Approves Renovation of First Civilian Governor Tatari Ali’s Residence, Other Key Infrastructure Projects

Bauchi State Government has approved the renovation of the residence of the state’s first civilian governor, late Alhaji Tatari Ali, in Zaki Local Government Area.

According to the Commissioner for Housing and Environment, Danlami Kawule, this decision is a tribute to Tatari Ali’s remarkable contributions to Bauchi State’s development.

He explained that The approval for the renovation is part of the state government’s efforts to preserve the legacy of its past leaders. The project is expected to upgrade the residence to a modern standard, while maintaining its historical significance.

In addition to the renovation of Tatari Ali’s residence, the state government has also approved several other key infrastructure projects. These include the renovation of the second phase of the NYSC Orientation Camp in Wailo and the completion of the abandoned State NECO office building.

The State Commissioner for Rural Development and Special Duties, Faruq Mustapha, disclosed that the state government has secured a five billion naira loan to facilitate the implementation of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) in the state. This loan will be used as counterpart funding for the project.

The RAAMP project aims to improve rural access and agricultural marketing in the state. The project includes the construction of twelve rural roads, which are set to be inaugurated soon. According to Mustapha, Bauchi State leads in the implementation of RAAMP projects among the nineteen participating states.

The state government has identified over four hundred kilometers of rural roads requiring urgent intervention, which prompted the decision to secure the soft loan. The loan is expected to facilitate the completion of these roads and improve rural access in the state.

In a related development, the state government has approved a proposal to engage foreign investors in solid minerals exploration within the state. The Commissioner for Natural Resources Development, Maidawa Bello, revealed that the initiative is based on agreements reached during the state government’s recent visit to Shandong Province in China.

The project is expected to create thousands of job opportunities and boost the state’s internally generated revenue. The state government is committed to diversifying its economy and exploring new opportunities for growth and development.
