Bauchi Speaker’s Wives donate sewing and noodles machines to women in Ningi

Wives of the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly have jointly donated sewing machines and noodle making machines to women in Ningi Central Constituency in order to boost economic self-reliance among them.

Presenting the machines to the beneficiaries in Ningi today, the wives; Hajiya Hauwa Abubakar Y Suleiman, Hajiya Rashida Abubakar Y Suleiman and Hajiya Bilkisu Abubakar Y Suleiman said that they decided to come together and complement the effort of their husband to empower women so that they can contribute their quota to the well-being of there families and the society in general.

Hajiya Rashida Abubakar Suleiman who spoke on behalf of the wives, explained that women are always the top priority of the Speaker being the backbone of the society, hence the reason of unending empowerment packages to them.

According to her, empowering a single women is like a empowering a thousand because of the key role they play in the society.

She added that, they identified tailoring and noodle making as major occupation of the women in the area in which many are earning livelihood, thus the reason for donating the machines to boost the ventures among women of the area.

While pledging to continue complementing their husband in delivering the mandate of the people of Ningi Central Constituency and the State at large, the wives urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the machines and engage more women in their businesses and occupations.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Maimuna Hassan thanked the Speaker’s family for the magnanimity which she said women will never take for granted.

She highlighted how the Speaker and his wives have been empowering women with startup capital, empowerment trainings and donation of empowerment materials as well payment of medical bills, delivery kits for pregnant women and scholarships.

Malama Maimuna assured the wives of the Speaker that women of Ningi are solidly behind the Speaker and will double their support for him in 2023.

The items donated include fifty noodle making machines and 20 sewing machines to women across the eleven wards of the Constituency.
