Bauchi Speaker pledges more support to students for tertiary education next year

Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Abubakar Y. Suleiman has said that he will continue to support students of his Constituency to study various courses in tertiary institutions across the country.

He made the statement during Award and Prize Presentation Ceremony for the 1st Annual English and Mathematics Olympiad organized by Ningi Emirate Educational Foundation (NIMEF) in Ningi on Saturday.

The Speaker who was represented by his Spokesperson Abdul Ahmad Burra explained that education is the bedrock of any society wishing to progress, thus the reason he has invested so much into the education of Ningi Emirate even before he ventured into politics.

While congratulating the winners of the English/Mathematics Olympiad, the Speaker commended NIMEF for organizing such spectacular programme which he said will boost the morale of secondary students to read hard, expose them to many areas and guide them on career choice.

Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman stated that his annual UTME registration sponsorship and scholarship will be remodelled next year so that many students will will benefit from the scheme.

In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation Pharmacist Haruna Hassan explained that the Olympiad is organized to bring out the best from the students and motivate them to take their studies serious.

He commended the Speaker and various individuals who contributed toward the success of the Olympiad and other activities of the Foundation.

Other Speakers at the event; Dr. Adamu Bala Ningi, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Empowerment Hon. Khalid Barau Ningi, Executive Chairman of Ningi Local Government Hon. Mamuda Hassan Tabla and Dr. Gaddafi Yusuf commemded the organizers for organizing the competition and pledged to contribute to the activities of the Foundation.

At the end of the event a total sum of N180,000 in cash and other prizes were distributed to the winners from various secondary schools across Ningi Local Government.
