Bauchi Speaker flags off Five million naira polling units empowerment scheme in Balma

Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman has flagged off Ningi Central Constituency Polling Units Empowerment Scheme in Balma Ward of Ningi Local Government Area, today.

Speaking during the flag off ceremony, the Speaker stated that the Scheme is designed to lift constituents with start-up capital in which 5 million naira will be disbursed to individuals in all the polling units in the 11 wards that made up Ningi Central Constituency.

He explained that although he has executed and facilitated life touching projects and programmes in the Constituency, he decided that it is important to empower the constituents from the grassroot by picking individuals from each polling unit for financial support so as they will engage in small scale businesses or solve some personal problems.

Speaker Abubakar Suleiman pledges to facilitate more projects and programmes for the people of Balma and all parts of the Constituency.

“One of my achievements I am always proud of is the ongoing roads construction from Arinja to Balma and Nasaru township roads. Although I am from southern part of Ningi, in the spirit of justice and fairness, I facilitated these roads project for northern Ningi because you are left behind. I am now facilitating another road for southern Ningi where I come from.” He said.

On the resolution of the people of Balma Ward that they will give there collective votes to the Speaker and Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad in the upcoming 2023 election, thus they don’t need to come to the area for campaign, the Speaker expressed his appreciation and that of the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, saying Balma being their political comfort zone, they will still come to exchange pleasantries during campaigns.

In their remarks, former member representing Ningi Central Constituency in the State House of Assembly and Zonal Legal Adviser of APC Alhaji Abba Saleh Balma and other community leaders said that the people of Balma are highly indebted to the Speaker and Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad for the construction of Arinja to Balma road which they have been yearning for many decades.

While praying to Almighty Allah to elevate the Speaker to a higher position, they stated that the community of Balma has decided to give its collective votes to the Speaker and the Governor, requiring them not to bother in coming to the area for campaign in 2023 because the projects have already done it for them.

Some of the beneficiaries who speak, Abdullahi Muhammad Halimbe Amina Abubakar and Tabawa Bala, expressed their appreciation to the Speaker for his kind gesture to them which they described as his tradition.

They reiterated their absolute support for him and his cause and prayed to Almighty Allah to give him higher position in 2023.
