The Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y Suleiman (Ɗangaladiman Ningi) congratulated the newly elected Local Government Chairmen in Bauchi and pleaded on them to actualise all the promises made during political rallies. He however made the call today during a Swearing-in ceremony as People Democratic Party (PDP) won all the 20 Local Government Chairmanship seats in the just concluded elections.

“The victory of PDP in all the 20 Local Government Areas of the State is a clear testament that people are happy with the style of leadership under people’s Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed (Ƙauran Bauchi). There is no doubt that the ongoing and already accomplished projects in the State capital and Local Government Areas have changed the perceptions of the oppositors, even strangers can testify to the fact that Bauchi is getting the life-changing infrastructures it deserves “. The Speaker noted.

He further asserted that the newly sworn-in Local Government Chairmen would emulate and follow footsteps of the State Governor in terms of implementing policies and programs that would carry all along. The Speaker urged them to ensure that most if not all the campaign promises are fulfiled so as to win the trust of the populace and confidence which the electorates reposed on them. The Speaker maintained that they should install social amenities to diminish hardships due to their absence.

“They should note that the level of expectations to deliver on the mandates from different angles will be high. As leaders in Local Government Areas, they should collaborate with Councillors and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that unity, progress and selfless services to humanity are their guiding principles. They should refrain from tendencies that will jeopardize efforts of the State Government, instead, building legacies that will stand the test of centuries will make people cherish and respect them”. The Speaker cautioned.

He finally called on people of different Local Governments to give them necessary supports and provide inputs when the need arises. He then prayed for peace and more developments in Bauchi State and Nigeria as a whole.
