Bauchi Govt Partners With Chinese Firm To Explore Mineral Resources

The state Commissioner of Natural Resources Development Hon. Muhammad Maiwada Bello has led a delegation comprising top Ministry’s staff & new management of BMCC NIG LTD to Toro local Govt with a view to introduce the representatives of Shandong Minsheng group who will lead the take off of the new joint venture between Bauchi/Shandong provinces to Toro local Govt Chairman aimed at strengthening collaboration and enhance mutual working relation between the two tiers of Govt.

During the visit, the Managing Director of Bauchi Mining Synergy & Exploration Limited (BAMSEL) has stated that, the Bauchi Minsheng Co-operation Company LTD which is a product of recent established relation between Bauchi State Nigeria & Shandong province of China has completed all the necessary arrangements to begins mineral exploration in some portions of the state for which Toro LGA is inclusive. We are here today to introduce our partners and seek your support for the success of this legacy project which is the first of its kind in the country.

He expressed optimism that, the partnership will have a positive impact on the state’s economy and improve the lives of the people.

The Commissioner, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Mai’Jama’a Dewu disclosed that, the ministry will work closely with the Minsheng Group under the new Joint Venture (BMCC NIG. LTD) to explore and develop the state’s Mineral resources. “We will continue to explore new strategies and collaborations to make the state one of the most beneficial from its natural resources,”

The Commissioner expressed his appreciation to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad for his support and vision for the state’s economic development. He highlighted the importance of this partnership, saying, “the project when fully established, will provide a structured market for minerals, ensure transparency and fair pricing, enabling value addition there by processing raw materials before export, reduce revenue losses, attract more investors, and create jobs for thousands of Bauchi residents.”

He further emphasized that, the partnership will also lead to the transfer of technology and expertise to the state’s citizens, which will enhance capacity to participate in the mining sector. He noted that the ministry is committed to ensuring the project benefits the local communities and contributes to the state’s economic growth, expressing optimism of attracting more investors to Bauchi state inorder to boost the state’s economy.

Reacting to the development, the Chairman of Toro Local Government Area, Pharmacy Ibrahim Abubakar Dembo, commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad for his initiatives in promoting economic development in the state. “We promise to offer support towards the provision of adequate securities to ensure safety and peaceful operation during the implementation of the project, revealing his commitment to working closely with the state government and the Chinese company to ensure the success of the project,” Dembo said.

The partnership is expected to generate significant revenue for the state and create new opportunities for economic growth. The Bauchi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to implementing stringent measures to curb illegal mining activities and enhance revenue streams.

With the expected economic benefits and job creation, this project is set to improve the lives of the people of Bauchi State. The state government’s commitment to transparency and accountability will ensure that the project is implemented in a responsible and sustainable manner. As the project commences, the people of Bauchi State can look forward to a brighter future, with new opportunities and economic growth on the horizon.
