Bauchi State Government on Friday declared strong commitment to deploy technology as a move to lead in e-governance system.
According to the state government, deploying the technology will afford her the opportunity to among others, share it policies and achievements to the citizens of the state, who elected the governor into power.
The Chief of Staff, Government House Bauchi, Dr Aminu Hassan Gamawa, made this known at the presentation of a Sharon vehicle donated to members of the Kaura Social Media Support Group at Government House, Bauchi.
Dr Aminu Gamawa said the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed is doing a lot to transform the state for economic and political development, including the infrastructure.
“On behalf of His Excellency, the Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, I want to welcome you to Government House Bauchi. For us, social media is a means of getting feedback from the citizens.”
“I know that the nature of governance is now changing and is becoming e-governance and any government that neglect what happens in the media is going to loss many informations.”
He said the role played by the forum in the past is very commendable, urging them to use the donated vehicle in promoting the laudable projects of the governor.
The Chief of Staff also enjoined members of the social media forum to assist the administration by working towards debunking misinformation and false accusations against the government for the image of the administration.
On his part, the Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Publicity, Comrade Muktar Gidado, acknowledged the positive contributions of the forum to the success of PDP the in 2019 gubernatorial election in the state and assured them of government’s support for effective discharge of their activities.
Responding, the Chairman of Kaura Social Media Support Group, Nazif Abba expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for the gesture and pledged to reciprocate by promoting the achievements of his administration.
