Bauchi Gov’t assures completion of Government House renovation before 2023

The Bauchi State Commissioner of Housing and Environment, Hamisu Mu’azu Shira on Friday called on contractor handling the construction of the new Government House in the State to expedite action towards ensuring the total completion of the project before 2023.

Hamisu Shira who made the call when he paid an inspection visit to ascertain the progress of the work, enjoined the company to ensure the contract is delivered according to the timeframe contained in the project specifications.

He stated that the project is expected to be completed before the end of next year, and listed its components to include the new Governor’s Office, International Conference Center, Medical Center and Staff Quarters among others.

He told journalists that the inspection visit was part of the leadership style of Governor Bala Mohammed towards deepening monitoring and evaluation for the delivery of quality projects by contactors.

The Commissioner after inspecting the project, said he was satisfied with the level of work so far done by the contractor and applauded the Governor Bala Mohammed for his foresight to initiate the legacy project for the best interest of the state.

“First let me extend my appreciation to the contractor for the commitment towards the execution of the project. The level of work so far made is commendable.

“Architecronix Limited, the company handling this project has once again proven to us that they are equal to the task and with the assurance you gave me, I am confident that the work will be completed as scheduled.”

Hamisu Mu’azu Shira said when completed, the new Government House alongside the International Conference Center will be the first of its kind not only in Bauchi, Nigeria, but in the entire West Africa.

Architect Samuel Olorogun, who received the Commissioner on behalf of the company, said Architecronix Limited is working round the clock to ensure the completion of the project on time.

“We are highly delighted to receive you today for inspection visit but I want to tell you that we are determined to provide the quality work for the sustenance of the project.”
