The Chief of Staff, Government House, Bauchi, Dr Aminu Hassan Gamawa on Saturday commended his principal, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for accepting to run for a second term.

Aminu Gamawa made the commendation in a press release issued to journalists on the victory of the governor at the just concluded PDP gubernatorial primary election held at Zaranda Hotel, Bauchi.

The chief of staff said the governor’s emergence as the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP for 2023 general elections will afford him the opportunity to consolidate on the gains made during his first tenure.

He requested the patriotic citizens of Bauchi State to rally round behind Senator Bala Mohammed and his party to ensure his victory and at of the party in the upcoming 2023 general elections for continuity in governance.

“In light of the duties and responsibilities placed on him by the good people of Bauchi State, H.E Senator Bala Abdul-Kadir Mohammed has today formally accepted the PDP mandate as the sole nominee in the 2023 Bauchi Gubernatorial elections. His exemplary leadership, inclusivity and accomplishments as executive Governor of Bauchi State convinced many Nigerians, spanning the length and breadth of the nation and from all walks of life, to demand that His Excellency should run for the 2023 Presidency.

“This was in the belief that he had the requisite qualities and track record to address the myriad of challenges facing the nation. His Excellency ran an admirable campaign that sought to unify the country and emulate his successes in Bauchi to the benefit of the country at large, while his call to the Presidency was ultimately unsuccessful, as a true statesman, a democrat, and in the spirit of fraternity, His Excellency has magnanimously congratulated the PDP nominee and wishes the nation well moving forward.

“As a result of this development, the people of Bauchi State, including his capable former SSG who was previously nominated by the Party, unanimously resolved that H.E Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed should run for a second term as Governor and commend the SSG for acting in the best interests of the State and prioritising the needs and wishes of its people.”

Dr Aminu Gamawa who congratulated Governor Bala Mohammed on the achievements so far recorded, expressed confidence in his ability to continue transforming the state within the next term with the resources at the disposal of the state government.
