:As he welcomes the 2023 Bacth ‘B’ Stream 1 members deployed to the state

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi state on Friday tasked corps members on discipline and patriotism in their national service as part of efforts to enhance unity and mutual understanding among Nigerians irrespective of their differences.

The governor made the call at the swearing -in- ceremony of corps members deployed to the state for the 2023 Bacth ‘B’ stream I Orientation Course held at the state’s NYSC orientation camp in Wailo, Ganjuwa local government area of the state.

Governor Bala Mohammed, who was represented by his deputy, Mohammed Auwal Jatau observed that the presence of the corps members demonstrated their commitment to the ideals of national unity and development.

He noted that the NYSC scheme is not just a program, but a symbol of the nation’s strength and diversity as it brings together young men and women from different ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds, uniting them under a common goal to contribute to the progress of the country.

“It is with great pleasure that I stand before you today to address you on the swearing – in – ceremony of Corps members deployed to Bauchi State for the 2023 Bacth ‘B’ stream I Orientation Course. This occasion marks the beginning of a new chapter in your lives as you embark on a journey of self-discovery, personal growth, and service to our dear fatherland.

“In the course of this orientation exercise, you will undergo rigorous training that will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to face the challenges ahead. It is an avenue for you to learn, to grow, and to cultivate a spirit of resilience, adaptability, and excellence.”

The governor encouraged the corps members to consider the orientation course as an opportunity to shape their personal and professional development and urged the officials of the scheme not to relent in instilling in them the values of hard work, discipline, and teamwork.

On his part, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mohammed Lawal expressed confidence that at the end of the three weeks orientation programme, towns and villages across the state will witness tremendous progress in all spheres of life given the expertise and determination of the corps and to give out their best in the service of the nation.

“I wish to place on record that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi state has been very supportive to the NYSC scheme in the state. We are indeed grateful.”
