Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Muhammad has Sworn-in 20 the newly elected Local Government Chairmen marking the beginning of their term in office.
In a ceremony held at the Government House in Bauchi, attended by government functionaries, party loyalists, and stakeholders, the governor highlighted his commitment to good governance and local government autonomy.
Governor Bala Muhammad emphasized the importance of local government autonomy, stating that his administration welcomes the decision to make local governments fully autonomous for overall development of the rural communities.
He expressed his resolve to organize elections to ensure that the people are legitimately governed, and urged the chairmen to complement his administration’s efforts in providing good governance.
The governor charged the chairmen to be accountable, transparent, and responsive to the needs of their people.
He reminded them that they were elected to serve the people and ensure that their basic needs are met, such as access to healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
The governor’s emphasis on good governance and local government autonomy is a testament to his commitment to democratic principles and the well-being of the people.
Speaking on behalf of the newly elected chairmen, The Executive Chairman Bauchi Local Government Mahmoud Babama’aji, thanked the governor for his support and guidance during the election process.
They pledged their commitment to work tirelessly to deliver dividends of democracy to their people and to justify the confidence reposed in them.
