Bauchi Governor Narrowly Escape Violation of Constitution.

The Nigerian constitution demands that the Governor announces his Commissioners appointments within sixty days of assuming office and transmits the list to the Assembly for confirmation.

With less than 5 days to the expiration of mandated rule by Nigeria constitution that the executive to submit the list to the Bauchi state house of Assembly as recommended by the constitution.

lawmakers and Bauchi residence are anxiously waiting for the list of Commissioners who would help to deliver the Bala’s administration.

Expectedly, Bauchi State Assembly during an emergency plenary Monday, presided over by the Speaker, Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman, received a message from the Bauchi state Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad requesting it screen and confirm nominees for appointment as Commissioners and Members of the State Executive Council in line with the provision of the of Nigerian constitution.

Presenting the message of the Governor during the plenary, Majority Leader of the House Hon. Saleh Hodi Jibir read the nominees as follows:

Alkaleri: Maiwada Bello (Geo Barrister)
Alkaleri: Ibrahim Gambo,
Bauchi: Mahmoud Babamaji Abubakar,
Bauchi: Hon. Danlami Ahmed Kawule and
Bogoro: Tsammani Lydia Haruna
Dambam: Ahmed Sarki Jalam
Darazo: Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza

Others are Dass: Usman Santuraki,
Ganjuwa: Abdul Hassan,
Gamawa: Muhammad Salees,
Giade: Dr. Yakubu Adamu and
Jama’are: Usman Abdulkadir Moddibo,
Itas/Gadau: Hajara Jibrin Gidado,
Katagum: Hon. Farouk Mustapha,
Kirfi: Hajara Yakubu Wanka,
Misau: Aminu Hammayo.

The remaining nominees are Ningi: Hassan El-Yakub SAN,
Shira: Muhammad Hamisu Shira,
Tafawa Balewa: Prop. Simon Madugu Yalams and
Tafawa Balewa: Abubakar Abdulhamid Bununu,
Toro: Jamila Muhammad Dahiru
Toro: Dr. Adamu Umar Sambo and
Warji: Abdulrazak Nuhu Zaki,
Zaki: Amina Muhammad Katagum

The House unanimously agreed that, the should screen the nominees on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of August, 2023.
