Bauchi: Governor Bala spends N1.5B for empowerment program

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State, performed the official launching of Kaura Economic Empowerment Program (KEEP), for the distribution of cash, Business Starter Packs and motorcycles to beneficiaries at Zaki and Gamawa Local Government Areas of the State.

During the ceremony held at Zaki, Governor Bala said his administration has budgeted one point five billion naira for the empowerment program, which would be conducted in all the twenty Local Government Areas of the State.

The Governor, said his administration decided to use the Democracy Day to launch the program in order to appreciate the beneficiaries for their support to the advancement of democracy.

He added that his administration initiates the youths and women empowerment programme tagged: “Kaura Economic Empowerment Programme (KEEP) as a move to make many people be self reliant.

Governor Bala, added that human capital is key to progress, hence his administration will continue to do more in improving the well-being of the citizens of the State through education, heath and infrastructure.

The Governor appreciated people of the two LGAs for their support to his administration.

He therefore charged them not to relent in supporting his administration for its success towards making Bauchi State great.

Other speakers including the State First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, State PDP Chairman, Hamza Koshe Akuyam and members of the House of Representatives from Zaki and Gamawa constituencies, Auwal Jatau and Madaki Gololo, appreciated the foresight of Governor Bala for coming up with the program, which according to them will contribute to reduce unemployment.
