BAUCHI: Governor Bala Names road after GEJ

Former Nigerian President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan today performed the official commissioning ceremony of the newly constructed Sabon Kaura to Miri-Jos Road in Bauchi metropolis named Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Drive.

Performing the official commissioning ceremony, Dr Jonathan appreciated Governor Bala for giving him the opportunity to perform the exercise and urged him to continue to do his best for the benefit of Bauchi State.

GEJ said he was surprised with the achievements recorded by his former FCT Minister and now Governor of Bauchi in less than two years.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Bala for finding his name worthy to name the road and promised to continue to support him succeed.

Dr. Goodluck Jonathan thanked the good people of Bauchi State for voting his former minister into power and assured them that he will live up to expectations.

Earlier, Governor Bala said the project commissioned was completed within six months of his administration at over two point two billion naira, a six point two kilometre.

The Governor said inviting the former Nigerian leader is the least he can do to show his gratitude and appreciation to him for working under his regime.

Governor Bala added that the newly constructed 6.2km road with 10m wide asphalt concrete in a state of the art will access Sabon Kaura community to other places.

During the ceremony, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu presented a donated cow to President Jonathan on behalf of the beneficiaries of the completed road project.
