Bauchi: Governor Bala Donates Five Million Naira to Journalists

Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has today received in audience the newly elected officials of the Bauchi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ.

The governor welcomed the team to the Government House Bauchi, and congratulated the new officials for their victory in the last election of the union.

A statement by Special Assistant on New Media to the governor, Lawal Muazu Bauchi, said Governor Bala pledged to do more for journalists in the state in view of their outstanding contributions to societal development.

He called on the entire journalists in the state not to relent in supporting his administration in order to succeed.

Governor Bala assured the NUJ leadership that as veteran journalist, he would continue to support them to perform their duties effectively.

Speaking, the Chairman, Bauchi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Umar Sa’idu said the visit was to introduce themselves to the governor.

Comrade Umar Sa’idu assured the governor of the unions readiness to support his administration for meaningful development.

The chairman appreciated Governor Bala for his support to journalists in the state and urged him to give more support to the NUJ, journalists and media organizations in the state for better performance.

During the visit, Governor Bala Muhammad donated a brand new operational vehicle to the State NUJ, five million Naira and promised to renovate their State Secretariat.

Governor Bala also promised to include the NUJ in the allocation of the ongoing 2,500 housing scheme in order to alleviate their sufferings.
