Bauchi State Government has denounced Senator Shehu Buba’s claims regarding the recent killing in Zaranda village, Toro local government area, as baseless and misleading.
In a press briefing, Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Abubakar Abdulhamid Bununu, criticized the senator for politicizing security issues and demanded that he be invited by security agencies to clarify his statements.
Bununu emphasized that as a public figure, Senator Buba should be objective and cautious when commenting on security matters, especially those under investigation.
He warned that the government would not tolerate anyone jeopardizing the state’s peace by spreading unfounded allegations.
The commissioner assured that the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, in collaboration with security agencies, would thoroughly investigate the incident and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
He urged the public to disregard Senator Buba’s claims and refrain from spreading misinformation that could fuel tension.
