Bauchi Deputy Governor-elect Jatau Congratulates Governor Bala on TUC’s Outstanding Pro-labour Governor Award

The Deputy Governor-elect in Bauchi State, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Auwal Jatau, has congratulated his principal, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed on his 2022 outstanding Pro-labour Governor award presented to him by the Trade Union Congress (TUC).

Auwal Jatau who received the governor’s award at the union’s special award presentation ceremony held at International Conference Center, Abuja, said Governor Bala Mohammed deserved such honor in recognition of his outstanding support towards civil service development.

The Deputy Governor-elect pointed out that, the governor has done well in providing conducive environment for civil servants to discharge their responsibilities effectively through various reforms introduced to enhance productivity, total renovation of the State Secretariat, prompt payment of workers’ salaries and pensions among others.

He expressed gratitude to the national leadership of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) for finding it worthy to conferred the
Outstanding Pro- labour Award on the Bauchi Governor, assuring that the governor will not relent in promoting decent civil service agenda for the overall development of the state.

“I am highly delighted to be at this award presentation ceremony to represent my principal, His Excellency, Governor Bala Mohammed who is among the awardees of the Outstanding Pro- labour Award.

“We are not surprised with this award because our Governor as a retired Director in the Federal Civil Service, has considered Bauchi State Civil Service as his top priority by providing all the necessary support to the system which will go along way in ensuring effective implementation of government’s policies and programmes.”

Auwal Jatau reaffirmed his loyalty and support to Governor Bala Mohammed to enable him succeed in taking the state to a greater heights and urged members of the organized labour to renew their support to the PDP led administration for the welfare and well-being of Bauchi State workers.

Earlier, the the National President of the TUC, Comrade Festus Osifo, explained that Governor Bala Mohammed was selected for the award in recognition his administration’s prompt payment of workers’ salaries and pensions, as well as his outstanding contributions towards the promotion of workers rights and welfare.
