Bandits attack: Bagudu sympathizes with the people of Zodi community, reaffirms commitment to Girl Child education

Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to the promotion of girl child education in the state.

The governor affirmed this at Zodi town, Zuru local government on Saturday when he paid a visit to the area to sympathize with the people on the attack by bandits on the community.

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu was accompanied by the state Deputy Governor, Col. Sama’ila Yombe Dabai, Deputy Speaker, Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Usman Ankwai Zuru, the Chairman, Zuru Local Government, Hon. Bala Gajere, and the Chairman, Bagudo Local Government, Hon. Aliyu Sambo Zagga.

He commended women in the area for requesting the state government to provide teaching and learning materials for conducive atmosphere of learning of their wards and children, pledging to encourage them to send them to school.

He was highly impressed about female enrollment which outnumbered male attendance, during which he instructed UBEC officials, BESDA and the Local Government to immediately provide all the necessary materials and equipment to schools to enable them dispense quality education.

Earlier, the Deputy Governor, Deputy Speaker, Women Leader, Amina Shehu, Youth Leader, Jibril Isah Zodi and Haliru Audu Zodi expressed gratitude to the governor for the visit and sympathising with them over the tragedy.

The women leader, Amina Shehu, Youth Leader, Jibril Isah Zodi appealed for the establishment of police outpost, more support for female education, agricultural input and loan facilities.
