BAGUDU WARNS CONTRACTORS AGAINST POOR PROJECT EXECUTION

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state has warned contractors, handling various projects in the state against executing poor job.

The Governor gave the warning this Saturday, while inspecting dormitories and classrooms poorly renovated at the Government Girls Secondary School, Mahuta, Fakai Local Government.

Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu expressed disappointment on the lukewarm attitude of indigenous contractors for lack of patriotism and care for the welfare of children and the society.

Consequently, the Governor directed that from now, school administrators, must be involved in the monitoring of all projects in the schools to ensure qualify work and make report whenever contract specifications were not adhered to.

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu mandated the relevant authorities to immediately provide the school with urgent requirements of security, water and electricity supply, additional toilets, beds and beddings, increased food rations to students and rehabilitation of hostels and classrooms.

He admonished parents and guardians to always allow their children and wards to return to school at the end of holidays.

The governor was delighted about the score card of eighty percent success recorded by the school in the last WAEC examination, urging the students to uphold serious studies and maintain the tempo.

Briefing the governor, the Principal of the Institution, Hajiya Rabi’at Umar Faruk and the school Head Girl, Maryam Shehu Fakai complained about the dilapidated structure in the school and urged the governor to remedy the situation with emphasis on the fencing of female hostel, supply of good drinking water, electricity as well as provision of security and additional toilets.

Elsewhere, the Governor was at the palace of Marafan Matseri Birnin Tudu, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, to witness the wedding fatiha between Mohammed Hassan Gusau and Khadija Muhammad Kabir Matseri, during which he serve as Wali to the bride while Alhaji Sirajo Yusuf Gusau stood in as Wakil to the groom.

The couple was joined as husband and wife on the payment of one hundred thousand naira dowry.

Islamic clerics who prescribed over the holy matrimony were Liman Musa Muhammad Matseri, Imam Umar Jimada Gusau and Mallam Sanusi Mohammad Birnin Kebbi.

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu also paid a condolence visit to the family residence of late Haliru Bello Sarki in Dakingri, the Registrar, Kebbi State Polytechnic, Dakingari, who died last Monday in a road accident along Dakingari – Koko road.

He prayed Allah to grant him Aljannah Firdausi and his family fortitude to bear the loss.

Late Haliru Bello who is a son to the elder brother of former Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari died at the age of 56, leaving behind four wives and twenty-two children.

The governor was accompanied on the visit by the APC Zonal Vice Chairman, Kebbi North, Alhaji Sahabi Lolo, President of Nigeria Bar Association, Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, SAN, Member House of Assembly representing Fakai, Hon. Muhammad Lawal Haruna Gele and Chairman of Zuru Local Government, Hon. Bala Isah Gajere.
