Bagudu fetes members of Tijjaniya Movement, harps on peaceful coexistence

Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has again stressed the need for prevelence peaceful coexistence in Nigeria and the world.

The Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum spoke on Saturday night in Birnin Kebbi at a State Banquet he organized in honour of the members of the Tijjaniya Movement from across the globe.

The members of the creed were in Birnin Kebbi for their 2023 Annual International Mauludi Nyass celebration.

Bagudu said:”I wish to humbly extend the felicitations of President Muhammadu Buhari, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Senator Kashim Shatima, former Gov. Saidu Dakingari and Kauran Gwandu to you.

“We are really cherishing your sustained fervent prayers for lasting peace and unity in Nigeria and other parts of the world.

“The Federal and Kebbi State Governments hold you in high esteem and will continue to accord top priority to the growth and development of Islam.”

The Kebbi State Governor also commended the adherents of the movement for giving the hosting right of the epic event to the state, saying, “this bolstered our extant bond of unity.

“This will be sustained as we attach great importance and respect for all religions.”

Bagudu extended his condolences on the death of some of the members of the movement in an accident.

He beseeched the Almighty Allah to grant them Aljannah Firdausi and give their respective families the formidable fortitude to bear the irreparable losses.

Bagudu particularly extolled the efforts of the leader of the movement in fostering global peace, unity and religious harmony.

The leader of the Tijjaniya Movement, Grand Khalifa, Shiek Muhammadu Mahi Shiek Ibrahim Inyass had earlier expressed his commitment to continue to work towards ensuring global unity and brotherliness.

He said that the Movement abhorred violence and always preached peaceful coexistence.

The leader commended Kebbi State Government for being a good and hospitable host.

He commended the governor sincerely for supporting the activities of the Tijjaniya in the State.

Earlier, Shiek Yusuf Jibril Zuru and Dr. Atiku Shiek Balarabe Gusau in their separate sermon stressed the need for peace , unity and prayed for successful election in Nigeria.

They also thanked Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, CON for his untiring support to members of the Movement.

Highlights of the dinner event was recitation of Glorious Qur’an and presentation of gifts to Grand Khalifa Shiek Muhammadu Mahi Inyass by the governor.

Members of the sect in Kebbi also presented gift to their leader in the state, Khalifa Shiek Balarabe Jega for his unwaivering commitment in uniting members of Tijjaniya in Kebbi State.
