ATBUTH Organizes Prayer Session for the Release of Prof. Ephraim

The Medical and Dental Consultant Association of Nigeria, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital Chapter, came together for a special prayer session in response to the recent kidnapping of Professor Ekanem Philips Ephraim, a Neurologist affiliated with the University of Calabar. Professor Ephraim was abducted by bandits.

Leading this collective effort, Dr. Olabisi Ogunlaye, the Chairman of the Association, expressed expressed their unity and support for their colleague in the wake of the unfortunate incident that occurred at her residence several weeks ago.

During the session, Dr. Olabisi fervently prayed for God’s intervention to ensure the safe return of the abducted professor to her family in good health. He also called upon the Federal Government to intensify security operations to secure the release of their member and other innocent Nigerians currently held in captivity, allowing them to resume their normal lives.

In addition to these prayers, Dr. Olabisi stressed the importance of regular daily prayers among members to safeguard Prof. Ephraim from those who may seek harm to the profession and the nation at large. He strongly condemned the heinous act as deeply unfortunate and inhumane.

The special prayer session witnessed a significant turnout of Consultants, Resident Doctors, and other hospital personnel, all donned in their white uniforms. This gathering aimed to align with the National body of the Association in expressing their shared concern regarding this tragic event.
