The New Emir of Kano and Chairman of the state traditional council Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero has been sworn in as the fifteenth Emir of the emirate with a call on him not to allow his noble position to be use by self-centered politicians.
At the ceremony held in Sani Abacha Stadium Kano, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje charged the Emir to cement relationship with government and traditional institutions towards promoting peace and economic development.
Governor Ganduje explained that his administration’s decision to create more Emirate Councils in the State was to bring leadership close to the people.
In a Goodwill message, President Muhammadu Buhari represented by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo congratulated the Emir on the appointment and enjoined him to emulate the leadership qualities of his father late Ado Bayero.
Speaking after taking the oath of office, the new Emir of Kano Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero pledged to work inline with guiding principles and respect the constituted authorities in the discharge of his duties.
Aminu Ado Bayero also called for the support of traditional title holders, government officials and well-meaning individuals to enable him succeed.
The occasion saw the presence of Governors of Bauchi, Yobe, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kogi, Jigawa, Kebbi as well as presidential delegation comprising, the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha, and Chief of Staff to the President Ibrahim Gambari.
