According to the Nigerian Constitution everyone has the right to living at anywhere he want in the country in respecting of his or her tribe and religions and also have the right to pursue his lawful Business at every part of the country.
Therefore the utterances and action of Akeredolu is a threat to National unity and peaceful coexistence that would cause mayhem. The Constitution permit every Nigerians to stay at every where they wish to reside and to be treated equally. It’s indeed deceitful and would cause mayhem to call for vacating the state with another tribes in any region of the Country being one or two persons alledges to have committed crimes never mean the entire community are criminals.
Its very disastrous for the Ondo State Governor to give one week ultimatum to Fulani herdsmen to vacate the state where he accused them of terrorism activities such as Kidnapping and other nefarious activities. Indeed His statement is a great shame as a professional lawyer who attained the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
Political leaders are expected to collaborate with security agencies in order to fish out the perpetrators. But calling the entire tribe to leave the state is unconstitutional. Moreover it would cause mayhem. In order to integrate the nation, leaders Must be United and treating people equally for them to promote peace and unity of the country by wiping out the ethno-relgions sentiment, therefore everyone should be treated equally according to the law of the land irrespective of his status, tribe and religion.
Banning the herdsmen activities is not the panacea to the problem rather to cause disunity among the tribes in the country. The hate speach by the Governor could disintegrate the nation where the Governor said the activities of the Fulani herdsmen have long being causing a threat to security in the state.
The Governor shared his statement on his official Twitter;”Today we have taken major steps at addressing the root cause of Kidnapping, in particular, and other nefarious activities detailed and documented in security reports, the press and debriefings from victims of kidnap cases in Ondo State.”
The statement of Akeredolu have pervaded to the South Western part of the country were in Oyo Attacked the Fulani herdsmen in the State, the violent attack is reported the killings of Fulani herdsmen in the state.
Therefore the killings of Fulani herdsmen in South west could jeopardize the peace and stability of the country.
Yoruba should condemn such kind of statement if not would indeed affecting their political ambition for rulling the country. If we look at the reason for defeat of the Ex President of United State of America Donal Trump is the same pattern as he banned Some of the Muslim state and openly discriminate the Black race, this indeed caused his defeated to Biden.
The political elites and some of the religions clerics have been long mounting efforts to protect their personal gains and by using the ethno religions conflict as the Instrument to achieve their political gains.
Therefore Nigerians should condemn such attitude that had been decaying the country since its amalgamation in 1914.
