No doubt Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has changed the ugly narrative in payment of salary for civil servants in Adamawa. It is a fact that before coming to power, the previous administration withheld salaries for 3 to 5 months without payment.

It is rightly said that majority of Adamawa state populace depend on salaries while the state IGR can not pay the remuneration, depending on FAAC like other states do always.

The coming of Governor Fintiri has changed the narrative, the issue of salaries is no longer a problem. During 2019 political campaigns in the build up to election, Governor Fintiri’s ward to ward campaign outlined his 11 point agenda and salary is inclusive.

The Governor stressed that his administration is going to pay salaries to civil servants on or before 25th of the month and he has been fulfilling the promises since assumption of office only this month April 2021 that the payment has been delayed and the issue is not from the state rather from the federal government.

The commissioner of finance confirms that the FAAC meeting was held last week Thursday and all they are waiting is for the CBN to wire the money into the state government accounts across the states not only Adamawa.

Indeed, Governor Umaru Fintiri will never want to see his people suffer because he has been the first always to pay salary in Nigeria.

The Video trending online by the opposition APC showing how Governor Fintiri said during his campaign that it is unfair for a government to owe its people salaries for months is mischievous.

We must also understand that when the promise was made there was no Corona and the economic hardship biting hard. It is expected that people show understanding moreso that it has never happened. Trust Fintiri on this because he has kept faith with the people.

Many people have called and texted asking about the salaries, Please we should exercise patience, salaries are going to be paid soon let’s continue praying for our leaders and our dear state at large.
