Governor Bala launches KEEP in Katagum, lays Foundation for reconstruction of Azare Ultra Modern Market

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has reiterated his administration’s keenness to alleviating poverty through empowerment and providing citizens with business opportunities for the benefit of Bauchi state.

The Governor made this known today in Azare during the official flag off of the Kaura Economic Empowerment Programme for Katagum Local Government Area of the state, where he appreciated the massive support his administration receives from the stakeholders and the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party in the state.

According to Mohammed, the PDP administration in Bauchi state will not relent in its effort to providing citizenry with the basic necessities for the economic development of the state, calling on beneficiaries of the KEEP to ensure proper utilization of the items distributed.

While laying down foundation for the reconstruction of Azare ultramodern market, Governor Bala said his administration has vowed to diversify the state’s economy, adding that the modern market when completed will have not fewer than six hundred and fourty six shops, open stalls and ware house.

Other segment of the mart according to Mohammed will contain mini fire station and security outpost in line with his administration’s effort to providing conducive business environment.

He called on citizens of Bauchi state to continue to support his administration to enable it succeed in the fight against terrorism and violence, saying that more dividends of democracy will be provided.

Responding, the Emir of Katagum, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Kabir Umar commended the governor for the initiatives and assured him of Katagum Emirate’s support to ensure the project is actualized.

Items distributed include cash, cars, motorcycle, grinding machines among others in the presence of the State Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Senator Baba Tela and Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Ibrahim Kashim.

Other dignitaries were not limited to the Chief of Staff, Bauchi Government House, Dr Aminu Hassan Gamawa, DG Campaign, Honorable Farouq Mustapha, leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
