It has been observed that the lawmaker representing Aniocha north/ Aniocha/Oshimili Federal constituency in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon Godwin Ndudi Elumelu has delivered the dividends of democracy especially in the provision of basic amenities to better the lives of his constituents.

According to the Centre for True Democracy, Elumelu has since the return of the country to democracy made indelible footprints when he chaired the committees on health and power in the lower legislative chamber in 2007.

The centre explained that Rt. Hon Godwin Ndudi Elumelu as the Minority leader of the House of Representatives has succeeded in carving a niche for himself in the league of lawmakers in the National Assembly.

He touched the lives of his constituents in the provision of electricity supply, construction of skills acquisitions centers, direct employment and job placements in federal agencies for hundreds of youths and women and direct empowerment of thousands of beneficiaries in various vocations and businesses.

Others, the centre further enumerated, are the regular training of the youths, construction of erosion control tunnels, procurement of vehicles for security agencies and capacity building programs for women and youths in his constituency.

Hon Elumelu through his zonal intervention programs has constructed hundreds of classrooms, civic centers, purchased speed boats, provided agricultural inputs and grants as well as the construction of kilometers of asphalted roads, thus earning him commendations from his State Governor and other leaders within and outside his Constituency.

“The list of Elumelu’s live saving interventions in his constituency cannot be exhausted. His interventions on several national issues will continue to remain fresh in our minds particularly during the power sector probe where the committee under his chairmanship was reputed to have done a diligent job that has remained a reference point till date”.

It concluded, “As Hon Elumelu continues to bestride the political landscape of the country like a colossus, we can pray that his tribe continue to multiply for the benefit of Nigerians and our ever growing democracy”.
