Abduction: Custom officer regains freedom after payment of N25m ransom

The Custom officer abducted in Zaria, Muawiyah Gambo has finally regained freedom after payment of N25m ransom.

Muawiyah Gambo who had been in captivity for over two months was kidnapped at his residence in kofar gayan Lowcost, Zaria city.

Recall that he was abducted along with some other people when bandits invaded kofar gayan Lowcost,Zaria around 9pm two months back.

Report however said most of the people abducted along with him were earlier released long ago.

Family source said “the Custom officer was released having paid the sum of N25 million naira and two motorcycles worth N1.6 million.

It added that, “the freed captive is currently under going treatment at an undisclosed hospital as he had sustained severe injuries on his legs following long time of chaining.” The source said.
