DEPORESTATION: BASEPA mobile court sentences 3 person in correctional center for allowing their animal to destroyed trees

The Mobile Court of Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency has sentence 3 persons for 2 months in Correctional Centre for allowing their domestic animals to destroy 40 trees planted by the agency along Sam Njoma Street, GRA Bauchi.

Correspondent reports that Magestrate Laraba Hamisu of the mobile course announced the judgement during it’s today’s sitting.

The three persons are Pauline Anoze, Christian Okechukwu and Abdulkarim Abdullahi all of Bauchi metropolis were convicted by the mobile court of Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency for their negligence with their domestic animals to destroyed 40 planted trees along Sam Njorma Stree GRA area in Bauchi Metropolis.

During sitting of the Court Legal Officer of the Agency Barrister Haruna Ibrahim noted that allowing animals to rooming on the streets is contrary to section 5 sub section 2A and section 34 sub section 2 of the agency’s law.

In her ruling, Magestrate Laraba Hamisu sentenced all the three respondents 2 months in Correctional Centre or to pay 3500 Naira as fine for their Negligence.

Apart from this, the respondents must pay all the expenses of 40 destroyed trees spend by Government and to be replanted another ones and safeguaded for sometime.

Meanwhile, the expenses of feeding the arrested 11 animals under the Agency’s custody is to be pay back by the Owners.

All the 3 respondents have agreed with all offences mentioned.

This action by the mobile court is would serves as deterrent to others.
