Kebbi begins sale of fertilizer for 2022 dry season farming

Kebbi State Government through Kebbi State Agricultural Supply Company (KASCOM) is to begin sales of fertilizer to genuine farmers on Monday , 14th February, 2022 .

The General Manager of Kebbi State Agricultural Supply Company (KASCOM), Dr. Sani Danjuma announced this is in Birnin Kebbi while unfolding the plans by KASCOM to embark on the sales of the commodity.

He explained that 83 trucks of fertilizer would be distributed to 17 Local Government Areas that engage in large scale production of farm produce in the state.

According to him ‘ The breakdown is as follows, Aliero allocated with 4 truck load of fertilizer. Those allocated with 3 trucks each are Gwandu,Bunza, Maiyama and Kalgo.

‘Augie, Jega, Dandi,Koko Besse, Shanga,Birnin Kebbi (Bulasa Depot) and Birnin Kebbi ( Badariya Depot) would have 5 truck load of fertilizer each .

‘ Suru, Yauri and Ngaski were allocated with 6 truck load of fertilizer each while Argungu and Bagudo were allocated with 7 trucks each for sales to the farmers’.

He emphasized that the sales would be on cash and carry basis through a formidable plan to ensure that the fertilizer reached genuine farmers.

To ensure smooth and transparent sales of the commodity at the depots of KASCOM in the 17 LGAs, the following are empowered to oversee the distribution of the commodity in each of the local Government Areas .

They are Commissioners, Members of the State House of Assembly, Local Government Chairmen and Councilors.

Others are Special Advisers to the Governor, Senior Special Assistants to the governor, Special Assistants, Party Chairmen and their Exco, District and Village heads, the Ulama, representatives of the Farmers Associations and officials of the Security Agencies.

The General Manager commended Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for approving the sales of the fertilizer which according to him gave the order in line with the cardinal principle of his administration on improving agricultural production in the State.
