Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Mohammed has received in audience, officials of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission on a courtesy visit to Bauchi Government House.
Governor Bala appreciated the support from the Commission in the area of revenue generation and called on them to engage independent marketers to avoid hoarding of fuel.
He added that his administration has since established a skill centre with a view to alleviating poverty addressing intra and inter state communal clashes calling on traditional and religious rulers to educate followers and communities against activities of land speculators.
Earlier speaking, the Controller, Bauchi Field Office, Engineer Abdullahi Ilyasu said the NUPRC popularly known as the DPR established four years ago in Bauchi being the highest state with over five hundred filling stations in the North East.
Iliyasu added that the NUPRC will ensure successful operation in the drilling activities in Alkaleri saying that Bauchi will soon become one of the oil producing states.
He called on the State Government to establish mini stations in ministries and agencies to address fuel scarcity adding that the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulator Commission has in last year generated over five trillion to Nigeria and will support the present administration in the state generate revenue.
