It use to annoyed me whenever the news of Academic strikes looms. It makes me think ASUU are the villians and FG are the saint. I’m among majority of students that consider ASUU before as just a group of lecturers that fight for their pockets, their Earn Academic allowances and nothing more.
When I had my first degree at Bayero University, Kano the first statement I made was ‘we are done with ASUU and the incessant strikes”.
Like other students, the Carry-overs are your biggest threat but most annoying one is the delay before collecting the certificate due to strikes.
I was blind then for not been able to perceive thing they way they are. Age grows with the ability to have a better look on things. And now, I can describe ASUU as the saviours of the Educational sector.

The fight is no more about their benefits, rather it’s about the sons and daughters of nobody. When few set of people in the Federal Government control the resources that will be sufficient for all an sundry and direct it to serve only their wards and families by sending them to Expensive schools abroad, ASUU is the only voice that stand for us.

Nigerian system of Education is the cheapest and still a President can’t afford but to have a visa for his daughter to go and study Photography and come back to the land he’s leading and celebrate. What a shame!
When they are budgeting huge amount of money for their Expenditures, they all forget how lavishly they enjoy the fruit of Nigeria in building their carriers. When they are giving free meals up to universities, when they’ve access to jobs and scholarships in the blink of an eye, when they enjoy everything as simple as ABCD.

Seriously, all those in power above 50 years of age are the wicked set of people Nigeria ever had. They enjoy anything and they are now depriving even a better facility, Shelter and ease for the students and good payment for those that stood for the son and daughters of nobody that they enjoy their votes to emerge on what they are today.

A single serving senator can give out free full time scholarship to over hundred students in his constituency, but annoying that it’s only when elections are close they’ll come out and share little money in the Quest of supporting this suffering generation.

To all the students out there, let us understand the villians that will turn to saints since 2023 Election is quite around the corner.

Please, ask your Governor, Senator and even the President;
“Are they paying back the debt Nigeria invest in them when they access anything free? Or they choose to gather money for their children?.

I’m strongly with ASUU and I trust the Union to be the only hope for the Nigerian students.
