Gov. Bala Mohammed Spurs Nigerian Army On Constitutional Mandate

Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State has encouraged the Nigerian Army against drifting from its constitutional role of defending the territorial integrity of the nation and countering insurgency.

He gave the charge on Saturday at Shadawanka Barrack Bauchi for the 33 Artillery Brigade West African Social Activity (WASA) 2021.

Represented by his Special adviser on security matter, Brigadier General Markus Yake Retired, Governor the Governor observed that the Nigerian Army needs a condusive environment to achieve its constitutional mandate.

He maintained that they will not slack in providing such condusive environment and logistics for the success of the Army in the state.

“The Bauchi state government will not relent in the effort to provide logistics, support to ensure condusive working environment for the men and officers in the state” he said.

The Governor applauded the harmonious relationship between the officers of the state with the civilians adding that a social gathering as this gives meaning to the expression that all work no play makes jack a dull boy.

Earlier, the Commander, 33 Artillery Brigade Nigerian Army Corps Shadawanka Barracks, Brigadier General Muktar Adamu said the WASA event marks the end of a successful training year and ushers in the activities of a new One.

The event he added not only provides platforms for relief and socialization of the Army, but also attracts awards to outstanding officers in different areas.

Adamu maintained that they are always battle ready to decisively deal with criminal elements in the state in line with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouq Yahaya’s vision.

Some outstanding officers were encouraged with awards as the event was spiced up with cultural display by various troupes including, Jarawa, Siyawa, Hausa, Fulani, Igbo, Yoruba among others.
