Taraba Governor receives the President Hepatitis Alliance World wide, recieves drugs worth 40 million Naira

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has recieved drugs for the treatment of Hepatitis worth 40 million Naira from the hepatitis World wide alliance, the presentation was done by the president Hepatitis World alliance Prince Danjuma Adda during his visit to the Governor in government House Jalingo.

Prince Danjuma while speaking disclosed that Governor Darius Ishaku was the first Governor to kick-start a free Hypertitise treatment in the nation, he futher disclosed that one person dies of Hepatitis in every 30 seconds world wide hence the need for an emergency response on it.

Prince Danjuma Adda who is the first Africa to have risen to the position of the president Hepatitis alliance world wide described the Governor’s health initiative as encouraging and commended his efforts in sinking chunk of resources on fighting Hepatitis. He however stated that the drugs he will be presenting to the state cost 80,000 per single treament dose and has over 100,000 of it to be presented for free to the state amounting to over 40million Naira.

Danjuma stated that he has gone ahead to plead with the organisation responsible for the distribution of these drugs and they are willing to crash down the price worth of 80,000 drugs to 30,000 so as to collaborate with Taraba State Government in reaching more affected persons.

The Governor who in his responds was very proud of the August visitor who happens to be a proud son of Taraba state disclosed that, he got to know about the dangers of hypertitise when he was invited as a guest in one of his wife’s programmes. The Governor stated that it is not an illness that will weigh you down rather it is one which will take you off your feet un expectedly. He stated that he never for once assumed that Taraba was involved in the case of hepatitis until the death trole of the state raised and he had to run an investigation just to find out that silently people were dying of hepatitis.

The Governor thanked the president and the giant medical company who magnanimously gave the state a reasonable discount on the Hepatitis drugs in other to bring the amount of affected patients to a very minimal level. He said the state is working hard in making sure that they totally eliminate this deathly illness.

While congratulating Prince Danjuma Adda for climbing the ladder to the position of President General hypertitise World wide alliance , he urged him to keep Taraba’s flag flying high and assured them of his administration’s continues support in making sure that they succeed in making Taraba a free Hepatitis state.
