Baba Gonto Incident: Group urges Bauchi Emirate to withdraw Dogara’s Traditional Title

Coalition of youths and students of Bauchi state have called on Bauchi emirate council to revoke the traditional title of Jakadan Bauchi Mr Yakubu Dogara alleging him to be behind the recent attack on the convoy of the Emirs of Bauchi and Dass in Tafawa Balewa Local government area.

The youths Coalition made their position known on a peaceful demonstration to the emir’s palace.

Leading the peaceful protesters the Chairman of the Coalition, Ambassador Usman Saleh described the act as disrespect of traditional institutions.

He recalled that, the emirs of Bauchi and Dass were on their way to attend the memorial of Baba Peter Gonto on invitation received by Zarr Development Association

Addressing the protesters at Emir’s palace,the Ajyan Bauchi, Alh Bala Attahiru said the Emirate council is doing all possible to identify the pertrators of the act and called on them to be law abiding citizens.

The prostester were carrying postcards with inscription as no more Dogara, Dogara must go among others.
