The death of a business mogul and an elder statesman Sani Buhari Daura has been described by the governor of Kano state, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as a great loss to the family, to Kano and Katsina states, to the country in general.

In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Abba Anwar, Ganduje described the death as a great loss to the nation. The statement reads;

“We really lost an illustrious son of both Kano and Katsina states. We saw him more like a Kano citizen than Katsina’s. We lost a very disciplined community leader, a royal blood, who believed in serving humanity and he was very humble,” the governor said.

He prayed for Allah’s Forgiveness and Blessings for the gentle soul of the deceased. Urging all members of his (late Daura) family, to copy from the deceased show of discipline, righteousness, respect for all, philanthropic activities and patriotism.

Adding that, “I am therefore, on behalf of the government and people of Kano state, commiserating with the families, Katsina state government and Daura Emirate over the death of this rare gem, who distinguished himself with exemplary leadership qualities.”
